Do you want to visit Never, Never Land as a WWOOFer or just a curious traveler?
First off, hell yeah, all are welcome on this farm. The more people we have the more projects that can become a
reality and the less every individual needs to spend on food. There is always someone on the farm, so come whenever the spirit moves ya!
There are some things to keep in mind if you'd like to visit:
- The farm is off the grid, but with a solar panel which has enough 12Volt power for the occasional light and the farms CD player and speakers. So bring CDs and look forward to laidback early nights (the sun sets at 6:30)
- There is delicious, potable water from a nearby creek and a natural spring. So you don´t need to worry about carrying water!
- Occasionally seeing poisonous snakes is a part of life in this part of the world but shouldn't be too much of a worry as long as you take precautions: Watch where you step, don't approach an unknown snake, and don't walk around at night without a flashlight. If you leave them alone they'll leave you alone (ie. don't stress about it, just watch where you walk.)
- The days are generally warm, but with a few mosquitos so long pants can come in handy. The air cools quickly when the sun goes down, so you might want a sweatshirt at night.
I don't ask for money for accommodations, but anyone staying on the farm needs to pitch in for food (and help buy and carry it in.) Unfortunately the farm is recovering from a drought last year so is not currently producing many vegetables, just some fruit. Never Never Land is far from the nearest store (you can buy a few things in Tumianuma, but have many more choices in Vilcabamba) so if you are coming out some ideas of things we always need are:
- Milk, Cheese, Cream or Butter
- Bread (there is really good organic stuff made in Vilcabamba)
- Veggies
- Any meat you will want (but we don't have a fridge and I don't eat meat)
- Panela (ground cane sugar)
- Starches: rice, noodles, beans

Hasta Pronto!
